Long one, sorry

I know it has been a while since our last posting but we have been really busy. Plus our camera broke so we are borrowing one till we can either get ours fixed or get a new one. Since the last blog we have celebrated my 30th (yikes) birthday, had Mackenzie's 4 month check up, Hailey's last day of school and went to Savannah.

Hailey's last day of school was on my birthday and they had an aloha picnic. Brian and I got to go and have a picnic lunch with her and all her friends. She had a blast running around with all her friends. We are going to put her in summer school for a few weeks starting in June. Mimi and Popi and Gammy and Papa game that night to help celebrate my birthday with cupcakes. Hailey only wanted to eat the bottom of the cupcakes and everyone else had to make the sacrifice of eating the top with all the icing.  I got a nice bottle of wine, the label is Mommies time out. I also got a wii and a wii fit. I am hoping between that and the Y I can finally get all this baby weight off and hopefully a few other pounds that I picked up here and there (ha ha).

Savannah was a lot of fun. We all left on Friday morning Brian and his parents left really early so they could make it to Savannah for their tee time. I left with my parents and the girls a little after 9 and got there a little before 3.  Uncle Nick Aunt Lisa and the girls (who turned 21) arrived right around 3. We went across the river and let the fun begin. Brian and I discovered that night that it is harder keeping up with 21 year olds than we thought. Lets just say we were moving a little slow the next morning. It rained on and off everyday but we were able to get in everything we wanted to do. One day that it rained most of the morning we went to the mall to the Bass Pro Shop. Hailey spent the whole time at the fish tank looking at all the big fish. Her favorite part of Savannah was riding the ferry boat across the river and the free trolly that went up and down River Street. We did manage to go to the pool one morning before the rain started but the water was freezing. Hailey really wanted to get in the pool so we tried to tough it out. But even she got cold and just wanted to ride on the mat, she was still cold but didn't want to get out of the pool. We ended up having to put a towel over her while she laid on the mat and Brian pulled her around the pool (does that sound like a princess or what).
Mackenzie had a good 4 month check up. She is only 11 lbs and 6 oz so we have to try and get her to gain more weight. The Dr. isn't worried though since Hailey has always been small also. She is doing good with her head control and sleeping. She is trying to roll over from her back to her tummy. She loves to smile and is just so sweet and always in a good mood. She didn't like traveling in the car, which is going to be a problem since it seems like we are always in the car these days.
Well I guess that is about it. Hopefully I can get some good pictures of Hailey at the pool soon to blog about. She loves the water so we will probably be at the pool a lot this summer. We are having a really hard time with the potty training so I would appreciate any advice if you have any.

Mothers Day

We had a wonderful mothers day. On Saturday we had a Mothers Day tea which we are thinking of making it a tradition. I did manage to find a really cute tea pot but could not find any tea sets that were not play sets. So we had to drink our tea out of very small tea cups and had to fill them about 15 times but it was a lot of fun. I think we are going to shop for our own tea cups while we are in Savannah in a few weeks, that way we can each pick out our own and make it special. I made an almond pound cake, and fruit kabobs and we had mini quiche (I did not make those). Everyone had a great time, and Hailey loved drinking her milk out of the creamer jar we put on the table. Mackenzie slept through most of the tea but I have a feeling she will have fun next year.  After the tea party Hailey really got into the spirit of cleaning up (ha ha).

The Beach

We wen to the beach last week and had a great time. It usually takes Hailey a few days to get used to the beach but this time she was a pro right from the start. She was digging in the sand and running straight to the water. She liked the waves and thought it was fun when they knocked her down. We found sea shells and flew a kite and just had a fun time playing.

Since Mackenzie can't wear sunscreen yet she only made it to the beach for a few minutes each day. We tried letting her sleep in a tent but it got too hot and she was really fussy. We did manage to take a couple pictures of her and I did dip her feet in the water and in the sand. Hopefully when we go back in September she will like it a little better and stay out longer.

We have some more pictures and as soon as I get them on the computer I will post them as well.

Haircut

We took Hailey to get her haircut. I was hesitant to get her haircut because it is finally long enough to; 1. tell she is a girl and 2. put it in pigtails. But it was getting really uneven and shaggy looking and the only way it looked really cute was to put it up. Well, my daughter does take after me in the fact that she doesn't like having her hair fixed (I used to drive my mom crazy when I was little). Her hair was starting to look a little bit like a mullet. So I took her to Sweet and Sassy after school today for a special treat.

She loved getting her hair cut. She didn't sit still at all but the lady was very patient with her and did a great job. She looks so cute and even though we had to cut a lot of her hair, she still looks like a sweet little princess. Here are a few pics.

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter. It was a long day but full of fun as well. I sang in a choir that I church added just for Easter Sunday, we sang at all four services so I was there from 6am till 1pm.  After church I went over to Dean and Gatha's house, everyone else was already there. Hailey was taking a nap and Mackenzie was hungry and a little fussy. We had lunch and then watched Hailey hunt for Easter eggs. She was having a lot of fun and got so excited to see that there were eggs in the grass. Unfortunately there were a ton of bugs so we had to help her collect the eggs faster. At one point she was taking the eggs from her basket and throwing them back on the ground. She is so funny.

Uncle Jason and Auntie Alli came by to watch Hailey find her eggs and stayed and hung out with everyone before they all had to leave to go home. Hailey has spring break this week so she is at mimi and popi's house so I can get some spring cleaning done around the house. It is really quiet with her not here, we all miss her and can't wait to see her on Friday!

I can't wait till next year when Mackenzie will be older and can look for eggs with Hailey. I just know that are going to be so cute together.

(I have some more pictures to post about from the past couple weeks but our computer has been acting up so I will try to get those done as soon as I can)

2 month check up

We had our 2 month check up last week and everything was great. Mackenzie is 10 lbs and 1 oz and she is 23 1/2 inches long. She is in the 75% for height and the 50% for  weight.  She had to get three shots but she was a trooper and only cried when she got stuck and then as soon as I picked her up she stopped. She is doing really good with sleeping at night and is such a sweet and happy baby. She loves to smile all the time.

Hailey is doing ok with potty training, she pretty much has the peeing thing down and will tell us when she has to go, the only time we have accidents is if she is in the middle of trying to be funny and entertaining and then she forgets she has to go or something.  She will even tell us when we are out and about in the car or running errands. The pooping situation is totally different, she refuses to go on the potty and if we see that she needs to go we will take her to the bathroom and she will throw a fit. I know that this is the hardest part so hopefully she will get the hang of it soon. If anyone has any suggestions we would appreciate the help.

These are just a few pictures of the girls, enjoy.

Getting Bigger

Our girls are getting bigger. Mackenzie is doing great with her holding her head up so we thought she might like the bumbo now. We put her in it on Monday and she loved it, and Hailey thought it was so neat that Mackenzie is big enough to sit now.

We started potty training Hailey two weeks ago and she is doing really good. We are still in the process but she is now wearing big girl underwear that she picked out. We have only had two accidents so far and she loves wearing underwear. When the weather was nice last week  Hailey loved going to the park and playing on the slides. Since the weather hasn't been to great lately we have been trying to have fun indoors, here is Hailey's creative paint job. I think she got more on herself than the paper but she was having a blast.
