We had a great Christmas. We celebrated Christmas with Mimi and Popi the weekend of Dec 12 and with Gammy and Papa on Christmas Eve. Everyone came to our house on Christmas day to open the gifts that Santa brought and to hang out. Uncle Jason and Auntie Alli even came over Christmas morning and spent most of the day. We all had German pancakes for breakfast before we opened the gifts. Mackenzie couldn't wait and started taking all the tissue paper out of some of the bags. The tissue paper was her favorite part and as long as there was some near by she was a happy camper.

Special weekend
Hailey had her school performance on Thursday night. There are only 6 kids in her class and they are all girls. They sang Go Tell It On The Mountain. Hailey store the show. She was the only one singing and got right in front of the microphone and actually started dancing as well. We were so proud of her and so excited that both sets of Grandparents were able to be there to see her as well.

Santa
We took the girls to have breakfast with Santa on Saturday. Hailey was so excited to see Santa this year and to tell him she wanted some My Little Ponies. We went to church and had a little pancake breakfast and colored some pictures. Our friends the Asburys were there with us, and Hailey and Tyler had a blast playing together and helping to sing the Christmas songs. When it was our turn to see Santa Hailey didn't want to go. Mackenzie just sat and stared at him and then fell asleep in his lap. Hailey sat on the edge of the chair and wouldn't even look at him.

Thanksgiving
We have a lot to be thankful for this year. First we are so thankful for little Ms. Mackenzie. It is hard to believe that she has been here for almost a year now. She is growing so fast, crawling teething and pulling up on things. We are thankful for our Hailey bug, she is so cute and says the funniest things. She makes us laugh every day. We are thankful for all our friends and our family. We are so excited about our nephew who will be arriving in March and our niece who will be here in April. It is so great to see our family growing and getting so big.

Hailey at Work
Gammy was nice enough to take Hailey to work with her on Tuesday and half a day Wednesday while Mackenzie was at home with the flu. This gave me time to focus on Mackenzie and give her one on one time while she was sick.

Crispy Treat
The girls and I were on a walk a few weeks ago looking at Halloween decorations. I started to tell Hailey about dressing up and going door to door and saying Trick or Treat to get candy. She told me that that was not nice to say and that other kids can say that but she wasn't going to say those words. Instead she was going to say crispy treat instead. In the past she has not really enjoyed Halloween because she was shy and wouldn't go to the door. But this year we went with friends and she loved it. She would run to the door, say trick or treat (yes she actually said those words) and would then say please and race back down the yard to go to the next house. It was so cute.
Mackenzie loved getting dressed up but she stayed back and watched all the other kids coming for candy while we took Hailey out. She was a really cut lady bug. She ended up getting the flu on Tuesday, she is taking medicine and seems to be doing better. Hopefully the flu is done in our house so we can start enjoying the fall weather before it gets too cold.

Picture day and the Park

Hailey had picture day at school on October 19th. We realized after the pictures were taken that she was due for a haircut. So now she is sporting a really cute bob haircut but since she has been sick we don't have any pictures to post yet. I am sure that we will have a ton from this weekend so stay tuned.

Carving pumpkins and the fair

Hailey and Mackenzie spent the weekend at mimi and popi's a few weekends ago. While they were there they went to the Dixie classic fair and carved some pumpkins. Hailey couldn't wait to carve a pumpkin and thought she wanted to help take out all the stuff from inside the pumpkin. Well as soon as she saw what was inside the pumpkin she changed her mind. Instead she got a spoon and helped pat down the "guts of the pumpkin" in the trash bag. She liked helping popi draw on the pumpkin and telling him what shapes to carve for the faces. Mackenzie decided she wanted to help and grabbed the pumpkin and started jabbering to it and turning it around. It was a really cute thing to watch. We put the pumpkins on the "stage with Hailey and she had fun dressing up and singing on stage with her pumpkins. We also made s'mores in the fire place but Hailey doesn't like chocolate and wouldn't even try the marshmallow so I unfortunately had to eat them for her.
The girls had fun at the fair, Mackenzie liked looking at all the lights and seeing the animals. Hailey had a blast riding the kiddy rides and going to see all the livestock that was there. I guess they wore Mackenzie out since she fell asleep in her stroller right in the middle of all the chaos and noise around her. Hailey has the flu right now but she seems to get a little better everyday and we have managed to keep everyone else healthy so far. I am hoping that she will be all better by Saturday to enjoy a little trick or treating. Happy Halloween everyone!
