We really didn't do much this week. I am getting ready for my 10K in Charleston and Brian had his Triathlon this past Saturday. We went to cheer him on but the weather was so nasty that we mainly stayed indoors and watched him through the window. He and Andy did a great job. I am very proud of them both and despite the bad weather they improved on their time from last year.
Some girlfriends and I are going to Charleston for a girls weekend and we are going to attempt the Cooper River Bridge Run. This will be my first race and while I am dreading it because it is 6.2 miles I have improved on my running and am thinking about signing up for some 5K's this year.
Hailey is still cutting teeth. She has three coming in at once, I think after this she has her 2 year molars but hopefully that will be a while. The poor thing needs a break. Here are some pictures of Hailey brushing her teeth. She loves to brush and if she sees you brushing your teeth or if you even ask her about brushing her teeth she goes to the bathroom and asks for her toothbrush. The other weekend Grandma and Grandpa came over for dinner and decided he would mow the grass since Brian has been really busy. Hailey got to ride on the lawnmower with him and absolutely loved it, she didn't want to get off.
We watched the KU-Davidson game last night. We were saying that we wished Davidson could of played anyone but KU because we wanted to pull for them. But being a Schleicher I had no choice but to pull for KU.
GO JAYHAWKS!!!

I've been tagged
I have to list 7 interesting things about me. I am supposed to tag 7 people but everyone I know has already been tagged.
1. I hate to messes. If you read the blog than you know it was just recently that I even let Hailey finger paint because I didn't want her making a mess. I clean up after her throughout the day (so I pretty much pick things up constantly). I am going to have to ease up on this during the summer since Hailey loves to be outside I am guessing she will be getting really messy.
2. Growing up I never wanted kids. I only tried babysitting about three times and that was it for me. But once I was married a few years and our friends started having kids I got the baby bug and I love being a mom. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
3. I was a preachers kid growing up. My dad went to seminary when I was 4 so I got to live on a college campus for 4 years (it was so much fun, very family friendly).
4. I hate sports. I tried to play tennis in Jr. High but that was about it. I am not competitive at all so I never really got into them. Plus I am not very coordinated so I was always getting hurt.
5. I was 21 before I ever flew on a plane. I went to Chicago with a group from college to attend a convention that was in relation to my major (which I have yet to really use)
6. As Kate told me the other day I am probably the only person who is excited to have a minivan. But I love my van, it is so easy to get Hailey in and out of and it has lots of room and storage.
7. I love family. I love spending time with family and playing games (card or board games not sports) with them. I think that is part of the reason for loving my van, because now everyone can ride in the same car and we don't have to have a lot of cars to do things now. I love holidays because we get to have all the family together.
I am going to tag some people, I know you don't have blogs but you could just e-mail
1. Kelly
2. Stacy
3. Katy Smith
4. Katie A.
5. Erin
6. Mary
7. Lindsey

Easter

We had a great Easter. Hailey looked so cute in her dress. We got her all dressed with shoes and socks and before everyone came over she already had her socks and shoes off. We had a family cook out with both sets of grandparents and with Uncle Jason and Aunt Allison. As soon as everyone arrived we took pictures and put Hailey in her play clothes.
We grilled out and just talked and watched Hailey play with her sidewalk chalk. She not only drew on the sidewalk but she decorated her play house our house and herself as well. Hailey took a nap while the Easter bunny placed the eggs in the yard. When she got up she went outside and started picking up the eggs and putting them in her basket like she knew exactly what to do. We tried to put her bunny ears on her but they kept falling down, Hailey didn't seem to mind so we just left them alone.

Riley

We left last wee to go to AZ to visit Riley. He is such a cute little boy and so sweet. I just love that new baby smell and those sweet little newborn cries. We got to hold him and feed him and it was so nice to bond with our little nephew. Hailey absolutely loved him. She wanted to hold him and she gave him tons of kisses. We couldn't get her to say Riley she just kept calling him "baby". Even now that we are home she will look at me and say "baby" and then do her all gone gesture. She was very good with Riley until we were in the car and she wanted to use his car seat for a foot rest. Riley was asleep most of the time so he didn't mind but I don't think she will be getting away with that the next time we see him (July yeah!!).
We went to an outdoor shopping center and they had this fountain for kids to play in. Hailey was a little hesitant at first but she got a little braver and started running around and getting in the water. The water cam up randomly so she would be standing right by one that wasn't on and all of a sudden water would shoot up and get her right in the face. She would laugh and start running around again. It was so cute to watch. It was a good thing we had an extra outfit in the diaper bag because she was soaked.
Another highlight of the trip for Hailey was seeing Roxy (their dog). Hailey loved teasing Roxy when she was behind the gate but as soon as they were in the same room Hailey would get scared and get on the couch. She petted her a few times but never got too close. Brian was on their computer a lot working on their I-tunes program and uploading pictures. Well Hailey always wanted to help him work so we got one of their old laptops and she went to work right along with her daddy. It is so cute to watch her copy what we do and to realize just how observant she is.
We had such a great time visiting everyone, and it was nice to just hang out. We are looking forward to watching Riley grow up and seeing Hailey form a bond with her little cousin.

I joined the club

Our Friend Tyler came over today and we tried to color some eggs. I thought it would be easier and less messy if we sponge painted the eggs rather than dipping them. Boy was I wrong. The kids had paint all over their hands clothes the table and anywhere else they could. Luckily we were able to get everything all cleaned up.

Brian's car started acting up a few weeks ago and instead of spending the money to fix it we traded it in for a new Van. We have been talking about a van for a while but we were not going to get one until we had another baby. But everything just kind of fell into place and the time seemed right. No we are not pregnant but now we will be prepared when the time comes.
**Please check back for pictures of our trip to AZ to see baby Riley. They are on the other camera and we haven't put them on the computer yet**

Playground

Last week we had some really nice days so we decided to go and play up at the park. Hailey loves going to the playground, as soon as she can see it she starts getting excited and squealing. As you can see from the pictures she only likes to slide face first on her stomach. She also likes to climb up the slide which she can do all on her own. It is so much fun to watch her and see the excitement on her face. I think she will have a lot of fun this spring and summer when we can be outside a lot more.

Another Step Forward

Although we are not ready to start potty training yet we thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and get one. As I said in the post before this one, Hailey is starting to become very observant so we thought we would try and teach her what a potty is. We will probably hold off until she is two to actually start potty training but at least she will be used to seeing her potty and it won't be a lot of new things at once. I hope this works, any of you other moms have any suggestions?

Feeling Better

While Hailey was sick we watched a lot of Elmo. I think she perfected her lounging skills. She is feeling much better and is back to her mischievous self.
We had her 18 month well check up on Friday and the Dr. said everything looks great. She is 31 1/2 inches tall and weighs 21 pounds 14 ounces. She is still on the small side but the since she has always been small the Dr. is not worried. She loves running around the house and playing peek a boo. Her daddy put up her tent and she loves to play in there and hide from us. She is becoming quite the little copy cat so we are having to really watch what we say and do when she is around.

The Bug
We don't have any new pictures to post this week. On the way to dinner Friday night Hailey started throwing up in the car. Luckily we had both grandmothers in the car so we were able to keep the mess under control. We turned around and came home and just ordered some pizza. She got sick three more times that night. We did a lot of laundry and got little sleep. The next day she seemed ok, no fever but she had terrible diarrhea. We thought everything was getting better until about midnight when we heard Hailey throwing up in her bed. She got sick two times Saturday night. So we had another night of laundry and no sleep. On Sunday she seemed to be feeling more herself but she still had diarrhea. Well about 2:15 am she was sick again.
I feel so bad for my little sweet pea and wish I could take the hurt and the pain away. We finally had a night with no throwing up but she still got up during the night. It will be a full week tonight since we haven't slept through the night. I am hoping that the worst is behind us and we are on the road to getting better. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Brian and I don't get it. We are leaving next week to see baby Riley and I don't want to take this with us.
Now that she is feeling a little better I should be able to get some pictures to post for next week. Hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy.
