Winter Gear

We finally went out and got Hailey a winter coat, hat and gloves. Now she is all ready to play outside even when it is cold. I just can't help but laugh every time she puts her coat on, it reminds me of the little boy in A Christmas Story who can't put his arms down. Even though we are now prepared for more cold weather I really hope spring comes soon.

Social Butterfly

We have been a little busy around here lately with MOPS and play dates. We had two play dates for Hailey last week and then a friend of mommies came by to visit us as well. Mimi and Popi can to visit over the holiday weekend and we also got to hang out with Grandma and Grandpa. We have spent the last two days in the house while I get over this cold I have (for the second time this month). I can't wait till the weather warms up so we can play outside and not have to be all bundled up or stuck in the house. Hailey loves to be around other kids, she never cries when she goes to child care at the Y or at MOPS. Grandma and Grandpa came over last night to celebrate Grandma's birthday. Happy birthday Grandma!

Hat vs Bow

I have been waiting for Hailey to get enough hair so we could put a bow in it. I knew she probably wouldn't keep it in for long but I was excited about it anyway. Now that her hair is starting to get thicker I thought I would try to put one in. She kept it in for about 10 minutes which is longer than I thought it would last. I have to admit that I think she is more a hat kind of a girl rather than a bow kind of girl. What do you think?

A little bit of silliness

Hailey missed out on her chance to play in the snow this weekend due to a bad cough she has had and a runny nose. So after reading her friends blog (the walsers) she decided to make a little snow ritual of her own. Unfortunately it didn't work all we to was some rain, maybe next time. But we all thought she looked cute and she had us all in stitches. The funniest part was that she asked to put everything on, we honestly did not do this to her.

Big Girl

Where has the time gone. My little girl is not so little anymore. She is getting to be quite the little helper around the house. She even wanted to chip in and help paint her playroom. She tired and tried to climb the ladder so Brian and I took turns playing with Hailey while the other one painted. It made the whole process take a little longer than usual but we got it done and it looks great. We painted the dinning room and the powder room. Now that we have moved some of her toys we put her table and chairs in the kitchen and that is where she has her snack she looks so cute sitting in her big girl chair.

Ready for the Flood

Grandma came over last night for dinner and brought Hailey some rain boots. It worked because it is finally raining today. Now once it is finished raining we can go outside and jump in some puddles. Hailey loves to play outside so now she is all set to go outside anytime she wants.

Toys

Since we are still in the process of changing the dinning room to a play room we have yet to blow Hailey's castle up. In the mean time she has made her own ball pit and has been enjoying all her new toys. We have had fun dressing her up in all her new clothes. At least one person in our family will always be in fashion and not have to worry if their outfit is out of date. But even if it is she would still be the prettiest girl in the world.

Taking down decorations

Things have been very busy lately and then Brian had to work this past weekend and has been up till the wee hours of the morning a lot this week as well. So needless to say most of the decorations still need to be put away. I did manage to get the tree bundled up so now I just have to get it in the bag and put in the garage. Hailey loves playing peek a boo from behind the tree and had fun helping me bundle all the branches together.

Winter

Well it was finally cold enough one day for Hailey to wear one of her winter outfits. I took a few pictures because I don't know when she will get a chance to wear it again.

Whacha Talkin' About?

This is Hailey's new favorite face to make. This is how she looks at everyone, it is cute for now but it looks kind of mean so we hope this face doesn't last too long.

New York City

Here are a few pictures from our trip to New York. We had a lot of fun and got to see everything we wanted to see. We were only there for two days so needless to say it was a lot of walking so we didn't take time to take a lot of pictures. The store windows were amazing and probably one of my favorite things that we did. My favorite was seeing the Rocketts at Radio City Music Hall for their 75th annual Christmas Spectacular. I had only seen them on TV when they would be in the parades but to see their show and how coordinated they have to be it was really something special. We also went to the American Natural History Museum, the New York Public Library, The Plaza Hotel and the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. We had dinner one night in Little Italy and then went to see The Little Mermaid on Broadway. Grand Central Station had a Christmas light show that was fun to watch so we picked up some souvenirs there and then we got Hailey some things at Bloomingdale's and FAO Schwarz. The second to last picture is the Tiffany's store front and the last picture is of that famous little blue box. I picked out a beautiful necklace called the Infinity Cross. Tiffany's was a little overwhelming, we had no idea that it was 6 stories. The most interesting part of our trip was definitely the cab rides, luckily we only had to take one to and from the airport but needless to say since I get motion sickness fairly easily it was more than enough. The cab driver would literally go 50 miles and hour to go 2 feet and then have to slam on his breaks. Next time we go I am taking some Dramamine before we get into the cab.

Christmas

We had a great Christmas. We started out by spending the night Saturday night at Grandma and Grandpas house and went to church with them on Sunday. Grandma and Grandpa got a choo choo train for under the tree and Hailey was having a lot of fun playing with that. If it isn't turned on she will look at her Grandpa and say Choo until he turns it on for her. After church we hit the road to go to Mimi and Popi's house. We spent Christmas Eve day just relaxing and waited for Popi to get off work. Hailey wasn't feeling very good so we wanted to stay indoors as much as possible. We met Popi for dinner at Red Lobster (a Christmas Eve tradition) and then we went to Tanglewood to look at the lights (another Christmas Eve tradition). Hailey loved the lights, we took her out of her car seat so she could see better and she would be on our lap just dancing and saying ooh while pointing to the lights. By the time we got home Hailey had a fever so we gave her some medicine and put her to bed. But by Christmas morning her fever was gone and she was running around and playing even though she still had a little cold.

The first thing she did on Christmas morning was kiss the tree, I don't even think she realized that Santa had come that night. But as soon as she kissed the tree she saw her giant Castle and got very excited.

She has so much fun playing and jumping in her castle and throwing the balls (Da's as Hailey calls them). My favorite picture is the one of her hair (what little hair she has) sticking up from the static and her tongue hanging out, you can tell by this picture that she was feeling better.

Hailey really got into opening the gifts. I thought that she would be more interested in the paper and boxes than what she got but she would open a gift and play with it till she opened the next one and so on. It was a blast watching her, she is so much fun. I know that next year she will know a little more what is going on and it will be even more fun to watch her get so excited. After we opened gifts at Mimi and Popi's we went back to Grandma and Grandpa's house to see what Santa had left there. He left Hailey a playhouse for outside that has flower boxes in the windows and everything. She also got some hide and seek tunnels and tents to crawl through and play in. Christmas was a busy day but it was also a lot of fun. Hailey got to spend the week at her Grandparents house while mom and dad took a trip to NYC which will be in the next blog. Now that Christmas is over we have to get on the ball and change our dinning room to a play room and rip out the flowers from the garden so we can put up the play house.
