Some Firsts

This week was a week of firsts for Hailey. She has been (mostly) sleeping thru the night in her big girl bed. We are so proud of her and she loves to tell and show people her new bed. She also went and saw her first movie last week. Our local theater is having free movies every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this summer. We saw Charlotte's Web and Hailey loved all the animals. Grammy came with us and it helped to have two people because although Hailey payed attention to the movie she didn't sit thru the whole thing.

Mimi came on Thursday night so that we could go to Spartanburg SC on Friday to visit family that was visiting from PA. Hailey was supposed to go home with Mimi Thursday night but since she still had her diarrhea mimi and popi ended up spending the weekend here. Brian and I were able to get some errands done while they watched Hailey for us. On our errands we came across some really cute bedding for Hailey's room on sale and couldn't pass it up. So the pictures are of her new bedding. We are going to take the crib out of her room this week and finally get it organized and put together. I can't believe how fast she is growing up. I think with the new baby I will try to cherish everything a little more now that I realize how fast it really goes by.

Another Big step

This weekend we decided to put a big girl bed in Hailey's room. We asked her on Friday if she wanted a big girl bed to sleep in and she said yes and got very excited. Saturday morning Grammy and Papa came over and daddy and papa put the bed in Hailey's room while grammy and mommy went shopping for a mattress pad and bed rail. They also put up some cabinets in the laundry room so that we can have a little more storage.

As you can see from the picture Hailey was anxious to play on her bed.

She has done pretty well in her bed so far. She still isn't feeling good and is getting up in the night with diarrhea. The first night she slept from 8 till 1:30 and last night she slept from 7:30 until 3 in her bed. I am hoping that once her diarrhea is gone and she is feeling better that she won't have any problem transitioning to her big girl bed.

Once we find out the sex of the baby we will determine is Hailey will stay in her room or move to the other room. Once we decide that we are going shopping for some more room decorations and a bedding set. We are so proud of her for doing so well so far, she is getting so big. I just hope potty training will go as smoothly as this has so far.

The other pictures are of Hailey helping me with the laundry. I guess she thought it was easier to help load the dryer if she was inside (lol).

We didn't have a very good start to the weekend. Hailey woke up from her nap on Friday with a fever. We had late nights all weekend. Her fever seemed to be better by Saturday afternoon so we went to the Blue Ridge BBQ Festival. As you can see from the pictures Hailey just wasn't herself. She didn't mind being in the stroller as long as it was moving. She hasn't really eaten anything since Friday morning. On Sunday she was acting a little more like herself when we went over to grammy and papa's house for a cookout. She enjoyed playing in her little pool on the deck. When it was time for a nap we put her in her pack and play and we all ate lunch. We could hear her upstairs making some noises but we thought she was talking in her sleep. When Brian and I went upstairs to check on some things in the storage area we heard her playing in the room. Brian opened the door to check on her and we discovered that she can now climb out of the pack and play. So she had been upstairs playing the whole time and didn't ever take a nap. I think it might be time to start looking into some big girl beds.

Big Sister

Well baby #2 is on its way. We are about 7 weeks along and our due date is around January 28th. We told our families this weekend and everyone is very surprised and excited. I think Hailey is still too young to really understand but whenever we mention the baby she will lift up my shirt and kiss my belly. I can't wait to see what she does once I start showing and she sees my belly getting bigger.

We have been at the pool a lot already and Hailey loves the water. We enrolled her in swim lessons at the Y for a two week period. Yesterday was our first lesson and she paid attention about half of the time. I am hoping the more we go the more she will pay attention. It has been really hot outside so we have liked going to the pool and sitting in the cool water. The last picture is of Hailey sitting on the shelf of her easel. She has yet to try to use it properly, all she wants to do is climb on it and push it around the kitchen.

Late nights

For some reason Hailey has not been wanting to sleep much at night. She will sleep for about 2 hours and then she is ready to party all night. As soon as we go to check on her she says she wants to "rock rock" (sit in the rocking chair) and read a book. She will go and get book after book. The first night it lasted till about 11:30 and then last night it went until 2am. I don't know what has our schedule so off but I am hoping it goes back to normal soon, I am exhausted. These are some pictures of her from the first night around 10 or so. I was hoping with the pool being open that she would wear herself out swimming in the afternoons but they hasn't seemed to happen yet, although she does look really cute in her bathing suit.
