Memorial Day Weekend

Wow, finally a nice and relaxing weekend at home. We didn't do anything this weekend. Mimi stayed Thursday and Friday night to watch Hailey while Brian and I went to the Melting Pot for my birthday dinner. We took Hailey to the pool on Sunday after her nap but the water was a little cold and she didn't want to stay long. Other than that we just worked around the house and played with Hailey. We did go to a party on Saturday for some family friends that live in the neighborhood. They were celebrating their birthday's, anniversary and life. It was a good party and Hailey had fun running around in the empty lot next to them.

Still in shock

I found out on Monday that I actually came in 3rd for my age division in my 5k from Saturday. I had to leave right after I was done running so we could leave for the lake so I really had no idea. Just a few months ago I never even thought I would run a 5k let alone actually win something. When I showed the medal to Brian last night Hailey got excited to see the "jewelry" and wanted to wear it. She looked so cute I had to take a few pictures.

We haven't been up to much. Hailey is growing up too fast and is starting to put words together and make small sentences. She repeats everything you say, which isn't always a good thing. She spent the weekend with her Grandma and Grandpa while Brian and I went to the lake for a relaxing weekend. When we got back Hailey helped me put the dirty clothes in the laundry and she insisted on wearing my belt. It was wrapped around her three times but she loved wearing it around the house.

Mothers Day

Mimi came on Thursday night to watch Hailey on Friday. Brian put on a golf tournament for Bethany Christian Adoption Services where he serves on the board. The tournament was a huge success. It was a lot of hard work and we couldn't be more proud of Brian and all he has done. On Sunday we went to church and then had both sets of parents to the house for lunch and to celebrate. Uncle Jason and Auntie Alli came by after having lunch with her parents. Hailey was in her element showing off and performing for her audience. She was a hoot. My mom brought her back some cowgirl boots and a cowgirl hat from Texas and she loves wearing them. It was nice getting to celebrate Mothers day with both families. I hope all you moms had a wonderful Mothers day. (The highlight of my day was watching Brian and Hailey vacuuming downstairs together before church).

She did it.

Well, we woke up Saturday morning and realized we had no freezer. Everything in it was melting and defrosting. So we salvaged what we could put Hailey in the car (in the onesie she slept in) and headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house. When we got there I started putting things in their freezer while Brian got Hailey out of the car. She would not get out until she had everything she needed. She had to have her coat, boots, sunglasses and hat. She looked so funny, and she did it all on her own, now I am nervous about when she gets older and wants to dress herself all the time.

By the time we all got ready and were heading out to run errands our fridge stopped working as well. So we packed up everything and went back to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Hailey stayed and played on the deck with her bubbles, which are her favorite.
