We have been loving the cooler weather. We have played outside almost every day and even made it to the park a few times. Hailey still loves to swing and climb over the playground. She is still hesitant about the slides but she will eventually go down one of the small ones, but she is still scared of the big slide.

We also got the opportunity last week to visit a farm just up the road from where we live. As soon as we got out of the car the turkeys were talking and there was a dog watching over the animals and Hailey couldn't contain her excitement. She petted the dog constantly and kept saying "gobble gobble" to the turkeys, it was so cute. We went with a group of people from my MOPS group and Katie and Tyler were able to make it as well. As soon as Hailey saw Tyler she ran and gave him a hug and they were inseparable the rest of the day. She got to pet a rabbit, chicken, horse, cow, goat, donkey and sheep. She also got to feed the chickens and sheep as well. I was so surprised that she wasn't scared of anything. We got to hear about life on a farm and took a hay ride and then Hailey got to slide into a bunch a hay as well. She had such a good time and it is all she has talked about since.

Hailey's first crush!

Hailey has her first crush and it is on someone much older than she is. Our friend Rick was over the other night with his son Ethan. Brian and Rick were working on editing some photos they took of a wedding a few weeks ago. Hailey loved playing with Ethan and just thought he was so cool. She talks about him all the time. We went over to their house last night for dinner and Hailey had a blast chasing Ethan around and trying to give him hugs anytime he stood still.
The last photo is of Hailey going to church this morning in one of her cute new outfits she got for her birthday. She is finally letting us put bows in her hair. She will usually keep it in, but her hair is still a little thin so they will fall out if she is too active. She looks so cute and she is growing up so fast.

Party

We had Hailey's party this past weekend. A lot of our friends were able to come out and I think everyone had a great time. I was a little disappointed because Hailey didn't touch her cake again this year. I guess I will have to do a big cookie next year seeing as how that is the only sweet she seems to like.

There were about 9 kids there including Hailey and they all had a blast playing on the back deck and chasing the bubbles. It was really hot outside but they didn't seem to care. All the kids got along great and played really well together.

Hailey had fun opening all her gifts. Well, actually I did most of the opening while she drank her milk. Luckily I had a lot of eager little helpers so the process went by really fast. It was so cute to see her get excited about all her toys and cute clothes. I can't wait till the fall comes so she can start wearing everything. Uncle Jason and Auntie Alli got her some dress up shoes and she wears them around the house all the time, it is adorable, I think it is one of her favorite gifts.

Mommy and Daddy got her a bike for her birthday since that is really all she has asked for all summer. Her legs are still a little to short for her to peddle but it won't be long. When we put her on it for the first time she was just grinning from ear to ear. I think she looks too cute in her helmet, but it is a little big (even-thought she has a big head still in the 75%)

These are just a few pictures I snapped this morning before school in one of her new outfits and playing with her grocery cart.

First day of school

My little girl had her first day of preschool today. I was a little nervous about how she would do since I have never just dropped her off somewhere and left before. I asked her this morning if she was ready to go to school and she said "learn about Jesus". She was excited and couldn't wait to get in the car. When we got to the church the doors were locked and she kept pulling me towards them because she wanted to get inside. When the door opened she pulled my hand and said "come on".
She was the first one of the eight kids to arrive in her classroom and she went in and the teacher said hello and started playing with her so I was able to leave. When I picked her up they said she was perfect and they hardly heard a peep out of her. She participated in all the activities. When they sang songs she jumped up and down and she prayed before snack and lunch.
I was able to get so much done around the house and it was so quiet the time just flew by. I think she is really going to like school and I think I am going to like the peace and quiet I will get for a few hours two days a week till the baby gets here.
I can't believe that our little girl is growing up so fast we are so proud of her and all that she has already accomplished. We can't wait to see will come next.

On the Farm

We spent the holiday weekend in Virginia at the family farm. Hailey celebrated her 2nd birthday on Saturday and she couldn't of been anywhere more perfect. Luckily there were enough people there that nobody got tired of carrying her out to look at all the animals. They had a horse, cows, sheep, chickens, ducks, two dogs and a cat. We sang happy birthday that night and had a few gifts for her to open. She still isn't much on sweets so she wouldn't take a bite of her cupcake but she did help blow out the candles.
On Sunday we all got up and rode the Creeper Trail. We did this last year and it is so much fun. We rented bikes and they take you up the mountain and drop you off. Then you ride down the trail back into town. It is about 14 miles but it is beautiful scenery with some nice little pit stops along the way. Hailey had a blast riding in the bike trailer and hated it anytime we stopped. Although she did have fun playing in some of the water with her daddy.
We are having Hailey's party this weekend and can't wait to celebrate her turning 2 with all our friends and family. Hope everyone had a great holiday.
