Christmas

We had a great Christmas. We celebrated Christmas with Mimi and Popi the weekend of Dec 12 and with Gammy and Papa on Christmas Eve. Everyone came to our house on Christmas day to open the gifts that Santa brought and to hang out. Uncle Jason and Auntie Alli even came over Christmas morning and spent most of the day. We all had German pancakes for breakfast before we opened the gifts. Mackenzie couldn't wait and started taking all the tissue paper out of some of the bags. The tissue paper was her favorite part and as long as there was some near by she was a happy camper.

Hailey was so funny, she would open one gift and then just want to play with it and not open anything else. The second gift she opened were some crayons and she just went over to her table to color, it took a while to convince her to open more gifts. She was so excited and loved all her toys.

We made Chili for dinner and we just all sat around and played games and had a a great day celebrating the birth of Jesus.

This last picture was just too cute so I thought I would add it in.

Special weekend

Hailey had her school performance on Thursday night. There are only 6 kids in her class and they are all girls. They sang Go Tell It On The Mountain. Hailey store the show. She was the only one singing and got right in front of the microphone and actually started dancing as well. We were so proud of her and so excited that both sets of Grandparents were able to be there to see her as well.

On Saturday we rode the train uptown and went to see the singing bears. Brian and Hailey went last year and she has been asking to go back ever since. Both girls loved the train and seeing the singing bears. I think we are going to try and to back one more time before the end of the year to see them again.

Santa

We took the girls to have breakfast with Santa on Saturday. Hailey was so excited to see Santa this year and to tell him she wanted some My Little Ponies. We went to church and had a little pancake breakfast and colored some pictures. Our friends the Asburys were there with us, and Hailey and Tyler had a blast playing together and helping to sing the Christmas songs. When it was our turn to see Santa Hailey didn't want to go. Mackenzie just sat and stared at him and then fell asleep in his lap. Hailey sat on the edge of the chair and wouldn't even look at him.

When we got home I asked her why she wouldn't talk to Santa and she told me that was just for the picture and that she would talk to him next time. Well that afternoon our friends the Gemienhardts had a Christmas party and guess who showed up, SANTA! Hailey still wasn't sure but she did sit on his lap and told him she wanted ponies. I just hope he remembers that they are supposed to by my little ponies and not real ones, our back yard just isn't big enough for a real one. Mackenzie still just stared at Santa, I guess she just isn't used to seeing people with that much facial hair. I am just glad she didn't cry but I am sure that will probably change next year.

Thanksgiving

We have a lot to be thankful for this year. First we are so thankful for little Ms. Mackenzie. It is hard to believe that she has been here for almost a year now. She is growing so fast, crawling teething and pulling up on things. We are thankful for our Hailey bug, she is so cute and says the funniest things. She makes us laugh every day. We are thankful for all our friends and our family. We are so excited about our nephew who will be arriving in March and our niece who will be here in April. It is so great to see our family growing and getting so big.

We were at Mimi and Popi's house for Thanksgiving this year and had a wonderful time. We went on Saturday to Floyd VA to pick out a Christmas Tree for mimi and popi's house. Hailey had a great time running through the trees and eating the biggest lollipop she has ever seen.  Mackenzie enjoyed sleeping in the car and getting a lot of attention from all the family.
We have our house all decorated and have been listening to Christmas music since Thanksgiving. Hailey had so much fun helping us hang the ornaments on the tree, I can't wait till the girls are older and we can decorate as a family and make new traditions. We love this time of year.
