Our last trip in July, by now Hailey is an excellent traveler. As soon as we got out the suitcase she crawled right in ready to help mom pack. Her new thing is to show everyone how big she is. If you ask "how big is Hailey?" She will throw her arms out in the air and try to get as big as she can. This is her showing you in the picture above.
On the first day Hailey didn't know what to think of the beach. She kind of liked the water but she didn't like the waves or the sand. We had a little pop up tent for her to play in and if she even touched the sand she would get upset, so she was either in the tent or being held the first day. By the second day she decided she liked the wet sand but not the dry sand. She sat in a little pool of water away from the waves and played for a while.

By the end of the trip Hailey ruled the beach she was crawling all over the beach. She loved to splash in the water and crawl around. She took in a little too much salt water one time and got a little sick but it didn't stop her from splashing and playing some more.

We took Hailey to the beach later one night when it was a little cooler and less crowded and took some photos of her. It was hard to get her attention away from the sand and to look at the camera but we got some great shots.
We are finally home and not planning on going anywhere anytime soon. We are calling this the Hailey tour of '07 since we traveled every week this month.

Starbucks

On a recent visit to Starbucks Hailey was thirsty so I asked for a cup of water for her. They gave her a Starbucks cup and a lid to drink out of. She looked so cute drinking out of her own actual cup, she really thought she was something special. After taking a few sips she found out that if she shook the cup water would go everwhere. Needless to say Mimi was soaked since she was the one holding Hailey. We are happy to report that she now has 6 teeth, 4 on the top and 2 on the bottom.

Great Grandparents

My grandparents from PA came for a visit to see Hailey. We visited with them in Winston Salem for a few days and took them to Blowing rock for Art in the Park. It was a nice visit and since they are getting older it is probably the last one they will make to NC. I guess we will have to plan a trip to PA to visit them next year.

Our Little Traveler
We have realized that Hailey loves to travel. She did great on the plane rides. Thre were a ton of people for her to look at and talk (jabber) to and she loved looking out the window. Her favorite thing was to stand on the seat and look through the crack of the seats to see the people sitting behind us. She would stare at them till they saw her and she would laugh and spin around and then she would do it all over again. She only slept for about 30-40 on the way there and the way back, but she was behaving and having fun so we didn't mind.
As you can see by the picture on the plane ride home she already knows what to do and is ready to go again.
We had a great time in Phoenix visiting Uncle Mark and Aunt Kat. Brian and Mark played golf one day and then we went to a Diamondbacks game that night. We had great seats they were just behind the on deck batter circle (if that is what it is called) below ground level so we could see the whole feild. They really were amazing seats. Then we went to Tucson to visit Kats parents and go to the Zoo. We spent most of our time on our trip just haning out and visiting. It was a really nice trip, we just wish they lived closer wo we could see them more often.

Hailey wanted to share her breakfast with her Daddy, they both got spoiled by spending so much time together it will be hard when he is back at work.
I think Hailey's favorite part of the whole trip was Roxy. She loved playing with Roxy and watching the puppy run around and play fetch. By the end of the week Hailey would even crawl up to Roxy and give her kisses. They were both a little unsure of the other at first but it didn't take them long to get used to each other. Hailey would crawl after Roxy and say woof woof (in her own language of course) but it was so cute. Don't think we will be getting a dog (at least not until Hailey can ask for one, I can't see Brian ever telling her no) but we will hopefully be seeing everyone again once little baby Pheonix is born.

Zoo
On our visit with Uncle Mark and Aunt Kat we went to the Tucson Zoo. Aunt Kat's brother works there so we got a behind the scene tour. Hailey loved riding in the Zebra cart.
We got to see three Giraffes before they were let out into their habitat and we got to feed them biscuits. They would stick out their long black tongue to take the treat, we have never seen anything with a tongue like that before. They had three Giraffes, two female and one male. The two female were about 14 feet tall and the male was only 11 feet but by the time he is full grown he will reach 18 feet tall. These were moms favorite of the whole tour. They really are beautiful and graceful looking animals.
By the time we got to the Zebras they were already in their habitat but a couple of them came up to the back fence so we could see them close up. Uncle Jed told us that Zebras are very aggressive animals so we shouldn't try to pet them. They had a baby Zebra as well but he didn't come to the fence. They baby was 100 pounds when he was born.
We got to pet the white rhinos and feel their horns. We always new that Rhinos were big we just never realized how big until we got upclose.

This is a picture of Hailey with the lion. There were two older lions already in the habitat but this was the son who is much more active then his parents. Uncle Jed said that his full roar is so loud that is will shack the ground and you can feel it go through your body. Luckily we didn't get to experience this and the roars we head were load enough. Hailey jumped the first time he roared but after that she liked it. I think she thought it was just a big innocent cat and wanted to play.

Family Fun and Fireworks

We had very fun but busy week. We met our friends from Ohio on Monday for lunch and then went to the park with the kids. We had a great time and it was fun catching up, we really miss them. Then we left on Wednesday for Gallatin TN for the 4th of July family reunion. On the way to Gallatin we made a stop in Knoxville and saw where I lived and went to elementary school. There were a lot of things that had changed but some of it didn't look like it had changed a bit.
It didn't take Hailey long to adjust to all the craziness and noises going on. There were lots of cousins for her to play with and even some close to her age. We had fun playing games and shooting off fireworks and going to the lake. Grandpa even took her into the lake so she could play in the water while the adults were out playing on the boat.
Here is a picture of us in front of the barn wearing out family reunion T-shirts they had made this year. It was a long ride home and we hated to leave. Fortunately for Hailey she won't have too much time to get boared with just mom around because we are getting ready to go and visit Uncle Mark and Aunt Kat at the end of the week.

Growing like a weed

Haily is doing new stuff everyday, it is hard to keep up with her. It seems everytime I turn around she is doing something else. She has found out that she can crawl through the coffee table in the bonus room. She still loves her books and the first thing she does in the morning is crawls over to the bookcase and pulls down her books so we can read them. She is growing so fast and is now taller than her diaper pale. I can't wait to be able to turn her car seat around in the car. Her legs have gotten to long for her to streatch them out so she looks cramped, when we turn her around she will have a lot more room.
She loves to look out the window. Her favorite is when daddy is mowing the lawn and she can watch him.
