What a cute little Monkey!! Hailey had a lot of fun going around the neighborhood in her costume and wagon. Since mom and dad decided what costume she would wear, Hailey decided to add her own prop. She insisted on carrying her golf club around. Don't think I have ever seen a golfing monkey but I guess there is a first time for everything.

We stopped by the houses we knew and spent the rest of the time walking around. We were really surprised that Hailey kept her costume on, especially the hood, but she wore it all night till we put her in her pajamas. Grandma came over and went around the neighborhood with us and Mimi and Popi even came to see her in her costume. They got there around 7 just when we were heading home, but they got to play with Hailey and help her hand out treats to the Trick-or-Treaters that stopped by. We had a great time and we can't wait till next year when she will know a little more of what is going on.

Beach Baby

It is hard to believe that Hailey is already 14 months old. She still seems so small to me but when I see her with other kids and little babies it makes me realize how big she is getting. She had so much fun at the beach. Last time we were there was in July and she was only crawling. Now she is running around and playing in the tide pools and having a blast. It is hard to imagine what all she will be doing the next time we go.

Haily had to make sure that she had her sunscreen with her for her trip. We only got to go to the beach twice since it rained most of the time. I think dad and grandpa played with her beach toys more then she did, but she was a good supervisor.

After playing hard and tasting sand for the first time Hailey was a little worn out and took a break and relaxed in the beach chair. She enjoyed looking at all the birds. We almost had the beach to ourselves so there weren't really any other kids for her to watch. After her rest she decided to play hostess and offer everyone a bottle water out of the cooler. It was so heavy we were surprised she could even lift the cooler, but she managed to carry it for a few steps.

Hurricane

Now that Hailey can walk and is becoming more independent she isn't so cuddly anymore and I miss those days when I could just hold her in my arms. Luckily one of her favorite things to do is to read. She loves to bring you a book and sit in your lap and have you read to her (or her version of reading anyway). I guess you could call it speed reading.
But as you can see she loves to pull all her books down and she usually wants to read the majority of them. Her favorites are still the board books, she doesn't like the paper books because she can't flip the pages as easily.

You can always tell when Hailey has been around because wherever she goes she always leaves a mess behind. I can't wait to teach her how to pick up toys. After she goes down for the night Brian and I get to play clean up, some nights we are literally turning furniture over looking for some of her toys that she has stashed somewhere.

This is a picture of all her books on the floor, I am not looking forward to when she can reach the top shelf and start pulling all the movies down.

Blown away

On Sunday we went over to Grandma and Grandpas house because Hailey loves to play out on their deck. Grandma has a bubble machine that Hailey loves to play with. As soon as I saw this picture I busted out laughing, I thought it was the funniest thing I have ever seen. How cute is her little face?

All dressed up

Here is a picture of our little family from last Saturday. A friend of ours was getting married and this is us before we left for the wedding. Hailey fell asleep in the car on the way there so Brian missed the ceremony as he was driving around with Hailey so that she could take a nap. She woke up on the way to the reception. She had fun walking around and checking everything, and everyone out.

Thinking outside the box

Hailey doesn't like the fact that she isn't tall enough to get up and down from her chair yet. So the other day she decided to find a new way to use the chair. She will just sit on it while it is lying on the floor. She was so proud of herself for knocking the chair down and she sat on it a lot that afternoon. It was too cute.

Just another day

No matter what kind of a mood I am in Hailey can always make me smile. This is a picture of her playing peek-a-boo with me in one of her favorite spots to play in.
Whenever we give her a bath she loves to watch the water run and play with it while it is coming out of the faucet. It just amazes me how the simplest things can bring her such happiness.

As most kids Hailey's favorite toy is my cell phone. She likes to press the numbers and then I find out later that she has been calling people. So if this happens to you I am apologizing now. She loves to grab it and walk around talking to the phone. It is so sweet and cute, I just love her little personality.

Johnny Appleseed

Yesterday we went to Windy Hill Orchard in York, SC to the apple farm. A group of friends went so we had a lot of kids and they all had a blast. We walked thru a sunflower maze and listned to Johnny Appleseed tell us a story.

After we found out how tall Hailey was we went on a hay ride and then our group made a scarecrow. Hailey wasn't interested doing that and just want to walk around and check everything out.

Then we got to pick out some apples and we had apple cider and apple cider doughnuts. I think Hailey's favorite part of the day was eating the doughnut, she ate most even though she was supposed to be sharing with mommy. LOL!!

After lunch we visited the pumpkin patch and Hailey picked out her own pumpkin that was just her size. We had a great time and can't wait to do it again.

Kitchen

Brian and I thought it would be fun to paint the kitchen this past weekend. Hailey spent the night at her Grandma and Grandpa's on Friday night and Brian and I went to Home Depot and bought some paint ( Spicy Cayenne) and some paint supplies. We stayed up till 3 in the morning painting the kitchen, we never realized how much detail work was in the kitchen and how much trimming there was to do. We got up about 8 the next day and finished all the painting and putting things back up by 4.
We are really happy with everything turned out and it is so nice to have some more color on the wall.

Mountains

Last week we decided to go to our friend Katie's mountain house. They built a nice house with a huge deck in West Jefferson overlooking the New River. We had a great time. We took the kids into Boone and did a little shopping.
Hailey was so cute chasing Tyler around trying to give him hugs and kisses. Her daddy better look out if she is already boy crazy.
