four

I was tagged by kate to do the "four". For those of you who don't know you go to your files and pick the fourth file and then the fourth picture in that file and blog about it. This is a picture of Hailey when she was just about 7 months old. She was rolling over but not crawling yet. I love her smile in this picture. She always has been a happy little girl. I can't wait till baby #2 gets here and to see how much they have in common and to also discover their differences and what makes each of them unique.

The time goes by so fast. Looking at this picture makes me realize just how much she has changed in such a short period of time.

Gatlinburg and the new floor

Brian and I had a wonderful anniversary weekend in Gatlinburg. We stayed at a very cute and charming bed and breakfast that was within walking distance to all the stores. It was rainy of Friday but we had gorgeous weather on Saturday and spent the whole day driving around the National forest and going to Cades Cove. We saw two bears, a lot of deer and one fox. We walked through some old houses and churches that are still there. It was amazing to see what little they had and needed compared to the world today.

Hailey stayed at mimi and popi's house again but they put her to work this time. The decided to rip up the old carpet downstairs and lay down hardwoods. My aunt and uncle from SC came to help since they have laid hardwoods a couple times before. Hailey thought she was big stuff helping out and I think she made it more fun and entertaining than it usually is.

Uncle Jason and Auntie Alli took her to a corn maze on Saturday and from the look of the pictures I think they all had fun. They took her to their house to see the animals (2 cats and a big dog) and all she has talked about since is giving them treats.

Trick or Treat

Last Thursday Hailey's school had donuts for dads so Brian got to take her to school that morning and have breakfast together. For those of you who know us well you know that neither Brian or Hailey like sweets so they hardly ate, I on the other hand would have loved getting a donut for breakfast. Her school is having muffins for moms but it is the day after my due date so we will have to wait and see how that turns out. Since it was a special day Hailey wore her new festive october outfit. I thought she looked very cute, definitely more a treat than a trick.

On Friday night we met up with some friends and all went to a corn maze. We did it at night and had to use flashlights, I think it was a lot more confusing and fun this way but we have never been before so I don't really have anything to compare it to. Hailey had a blast and we all got through without getting lost or hitting too many dead ends. We would like to go back during the day sometimes, the place looked really nice and they had farm animals, a pumpkin patch and hay-rides.

We also went to the Waxhaw fall treasure festival on Saturday and walked around for a little while but we forgot our camera for that one. We are getting ready to head to Gatlinburg for our anniversary so I will post about that once we get back. Have a good week and weekend.

A weekend away

Hailey and I left on Wednesday and went to go see Mimi and Popi. Popi is recovering from surgery and we wanted to spend some time while he is stuck at home. We had a good time just hanging out and letting Hailey entertain us. On Thursday night Uncle Jason and Auntie Alli came by for dinner and to visit. I left on Friday to come back home so I could meet up with our ASU friends and head to Boone for homecoming weekend. Hailey got to stay at mimi and popi's and continue getting spoiled.

Mimi had a work picnic on Saturday at Tanglewood so Hailey got to go and play in the park and feed the ducks. My mom said that when they ran out of bread Hailey still wanted to fee them so they got out her snack bag and Hailey would ask the duck if they wanted a "animal cracker, goldfish, or teddy graham". I wish I could of been there because I can just imagine how cute that was. It is amazing the things kids come up with on their own.

We have been loving the cooler weather. We have played outside almost every day and even made it to the park a few times. Hailey still loves to swing and climb over the playground. She is still hesitant about the slides but she will eventually go down one of the small ones, but she is still scared of the big slide.

We also got the opportunity last week to visit a farm just up the road from where we live. As soon as we got out of the car the turkeys were talking and there was a dog watching over the animals and Hailey couldn't contain her excitement. She petted the dog constantly and kept saying "gobble gobble" to the turkeys, it was so cute. We went with a group of people from my MOPS group and Katie and Tyler were able to make it as well. As soon as Hailey saw Tyler she ran and gave him a hug and they were inseparable the rest of the day. She got to pet a rabbit, chicken, horse, cow, goat, donkey and sheep. She also got to feed the chickens and sheep as well. I was so surprised that she wasn't scared of anything. We got to hear about life on a farm and took a hay ride and then Hailey got to slide into a bunch a hay as well. She had such a good time and it is all she has talked about since.

Hailey's first crush!

Hailey has her first crush and it is on someone much older than she is. Our friend Rick was over the other night with his son Ethan. Brian and Rick were working on editing some photos they took of a wedding a few weeks ago. Hailey loved playing with Ethan and just thought he was so cool. She talks about him all the time. We went over to their house last night for dinner and Hailey had a blast chasing Ethan around and trying to give him hugs anytime he stood still.

The last photo is of Hailey going to church this morning in one of her cute new outfits she got for her birthday. She is finally letting us put bows in her hair. She will usually keep it in, but her hair is still a little thin so they will fall out if she is too active. She looks so cute and she is growing up so fast.

Party

We had Hailey's party this past weekend. A lot of our friends were able to come out and I think everyone had a great time. I was a little disappointed because Hailey didn't touch her cake again this year. I guess I will have to do a big cookie next year seeing as how that is the only sweet she seems to like.

There were about 9 kids there including Hailey and they all had a blast playing on the back deck and chasing the bubbles. It was really hot outside but they didn't seem to care. All the kids got along great and played really well together.

Hailey had fun opening all her gifts. Well, actually I did most of the opening while she drank her milk. Luckily I had a lot of eager little helpers so the process went by really fast. It was so cute to see her get excited about all her toys and cute clothes. I can't wait till the fall comes so she can start wearing everything. Uncle Jason and Auntie Alli got her some dress up shoes and she wears them around the house all the time, it is adorable, I think it is one of her favorite gifts.

Mommy and Daddy got her a bike for her birthday since that is really all she has asked for all summer. Her legs are still a little to short for her to peddle but it won't be long. When we put her on it for the first time she was just grinning from ear to ear. I think she looks too cute in her helmet, but it is a little big (even-thought she has a big head still in the 75%)

These are just a few pictures I snapped this morning before school in one of her new outfits and playing with her grocery cart.
