Another Pumpkin Patch

We visited my aunt and uncle in SC the other weekend (aka nana and papa paul) and took them to a pumpkin patch/hay-ride. The girls had a great time, they got to feed cows and see some pigs as well as pick out some pumpkins. There was also homemade ice-cream at the end of the hay-ride so the girls loved that.

The place we took them was Strawberry Hills farm. They had a trail that the wagon went on and had all kinds of decorations to keep everyone entertained on the way. When we got to the bridge a troll came out and we had to ask permission to pass. It was really cute and we all had a great time.

7 years

I can't believe it has already been 7 years since the day I married my best friend. I also can't believe how much our lives have changed in those 7 years. When we got married we didn't think we would live in our house more than 5 years and that we would wait 5 to 10 years before we had any kids. But here we are still in the same house with two precious little girls and we couldn't be happier. It just goes to show that we can't plan our lives that we just need to trust in God and follow his plan because he is God and he is always right.

I love you sweetie, happy anniversary!

Cousins

This first picture is Hailey's fall school picture, she did a great job posing (which is easier said than done when we are taking her picture)

Brian's brother and his family were here visiting last week and we had such a good time with them. Little Bailey just turned 6 months old and was adorable, Hailey had a good time playing with her and feeding her a bottle.

We tried to find some things to do while they were here so we went to Hunter Farms, Sports connection and a Fire Station. Riley loves fire trucks so we promised him would would ride by one on our way home one night. Well it was our lucky day because they were washing the floors so they had the trucks out. We stopped by to look at the trucks and some of the nice firemen came out and opened the truck up and let them look around inside and then they got to slide down the pole and had a great time.

At Hunter farms Riley and Hailey loved feeding all the different animals and riding on the hay ride. Everyone got to pick a pumpkin and go through the hay maze. When we got back they got to decorate their pumpkins, don't they look scary.

We got all the kids dresses up in the halloween costumes and tried to take a picture but it was getting late and my little flower girl did not want to cooperate but we did manage this one picture. If it looks like Mackenzie's costume is a little small it is, I looked at the hanger and not the tag and needless to say the sizes didn't match up. I crammed the poor thing into a 6-12 month costume but was able to go and exchange it the next day so she won't be uncomfortable for trick or treating.

Green Beans

Today was our second soccer practice and we are the Green Beans. The kids practice for 30 minutes and then the last 30 minutes they scrimmage with another team. I didn't know why they don't have them play actual games against other teams, well that is until today. Watching them play was hilarious. The kids were just happy to kick a ball and they didn't care where they were kicking it to or which way they are supposed to run or they just stood there and watched all the other kids running around kicking the ball. It was so cute. The team got their uniforms today and our little bean is number 8 so if you are every driving by Southbrook on a Saturday at 2 cheer on the Green Beans #8 please (sorry some of the pictures are fuzzy but it was hard to get clear action shots.

A new year

Over Labor day weekend we went to Virginia and went to the Hillsville flea market. We bought a few things that I will post about at a later time. The weather was beautiful and I for the first time going there I never even broke a sweat, most people even kept long sleeve shirts on. We also did the creeper trail which is always fun. I just love riding down the trail and seeing Gods talents as you take in the beautiful scenery and can hear the water flowing in the creeks. Hailey kept wanting to go fast and loving hitting all the bumps while riding in her bike trailer. She did get out a few time to throw rocks in the water and chase crawdads around. Mackenzie did ok in her bike trailer but her favorite part was the chocolate cake at the Creeper Trail Cafe. On Monday we went to the farm and got some cute pictures of the girls.

Last week Hailey started school, dance and soccer (it was a busy week for us). She is loving school and her two best friends Kaleigh and Sarah are in her class again this year. There are 10 kids and it is evenly split with 5 girls and 5 boys. Kaleigh and Sarah are both in her dance class as well. They all look so cute dressed in the pink leotards. I don't have any pictures of Hailey playing soccer yet since I had to work all morning and most of the afternoon on Saturday and just made it in time to watch her first practice but I promise I will have pictures next week.

Mackenzie is doing great and I am really looking forward to having time one on one with her while Hailey is in school. She loves her little I-pod toy and carries around like a boom box all the time, it is so cute. She also loves playing with Hailey's princess laptop. She will play with anything that makes music and she will dance and try to sing a long, she loves music.

Happy Birthday

I can't believe that my little girl is 4 years old today. Where has the time gone? It seems like everything has happened in the blink of an eye. Someone recently asked me what age has been my favorite so far and I didn't know what to say. Each milestone has brought new things and I honestly think that they are all my favorite because they are all different. I love that we can sit down and have actual conversations together, we can play dolls together, or just cuddle up on the couch and watch a movie together. She can always make me smile and she is the funniest kid I know. I grieve for the time that has passes so quickly but I look forward to all the new things that are yet to come that I can't even imagine yet. Hailey, you continue to surprise us and we love watching you grow into this beautiful little girl who has a passion and a love for life. We love you so much doodle bug!

Happy Birthday!

Beach

Two weeks ago we were on vacation at Sunset Beach. We had great weather and Hailey was in the water every day, and sometimes she had to go twice in one day. She loves jumping the waves and body surfing.

Mackenzie did not like the beach at all this time. She wanted nothing to do with the sand. She would walk in the water as long as she was holding both my hands and then she would just sit in her beach chair eating crackers and drinking juice. After about an hour she was ready to go and made sure she made it known to everyone around. She has a set of lungs on her and a diva attitude to boot.

I think the highlight of the trip was coming home from running errands one day to find PaPa painting the girls nails. We got back on a Sunday and then Tuesday the girls and I left my MiMi and Popi's house. I left on Thursday and the girls stayed for the rest of the weekend. They went to a science/nature museum in Greensboro but I don't have any of the pictures yet. So now it is back to reality and getting things done before Hailey starts preschool in a few weeks.
