Snow

So when we brought Mackenzie home from the hospital it was snowing. This is the first time Hailey has ever really seen snow. She was very excited about the snow but she informed us that "it isn't a frosty snow".  So when we got home Brian took her out to play. They threw snowballs and made little snowmen that Hailey knocked down with her bat. She even tasted the snow and said it was cold.  They didn't stay out long but they had a blast while they were out.  

One week

It is hard to believe that it has been a whole week already. It has been a great week. Hailey is loving being a big sister and is curious about everything and every noise Mackenzie makes. Mackenzie likes to sleep a lot but fortunately (and so unlike her big sister) she likes to sleep anywhere. She actually sleeps in her bassinet so that makes it easy for night feedings. We are having a problem with her falling asleep during her feeding and not getting enough but other than that everything is going great. 

Brian took all this past week off and my mom will be here all this week. It has been so nice having all this help. Between Brian's parents and my parents Hailey hasn't been lacking any attention. I know it will be a whole new story when all my help is gone and I am alone with two kids, but as for now I am taking advantage of the help and trying to nap or just relax whenever possible. 

Hi my name is Mackenzie

Hello! Mackenzie Paige Schleicher entered the world at 10:32p on 1.18.09. She weighs 71bs 1oz and is 20 inches in lenth. Mommy and Mackezie are doing great and big sister Hailey is already a big helps. Thank you to everyone for your prayers, what a wonderful blessing on our lives.

Brian

Shower

We had a baby shower last weekend thrown by our good friends Katie and Susan. It was nice to just sit and relax and visit with friends and family. The games were fun and the food was good (I did cheat a little bit and had some cake). We got a lot of nice stuff for Mackenzie and a lot of necessities as well. We are in the final countdown so I probably won't blog anymore until she arrives and we are back home.

Daddy Time

Hailey got really spoiled over the holidays having her daddy home for some long weekends. They had so much fun playing together and they got really creative. Here is the fort they built, Hailey loved playing under it with all her toys but I think Daddy had just as much building it and playing with his Hailey bug.

Nursery

As I promised here are some pictures of the nursery. Brian's aunt Lisa came a few weeks ago and painted everything, she is very talented. My mom came this past weekend and surprised me with my shower gift early, baby bedding! It really brings the room together and looks fantastic. I love how girly the room is and can't wait to bring Mackenzie home (hopefully soon).

Christmas

We had a great Christmas! We were able to celebrate Christmas at our house this year and had both sets of Grandparents here all day. Uncle Jason and Aunt Allison came by later in the morning and then stayed for lunch and some games. Hailey had a blast opening all of her gifts. Her big gift from Santa was a Thomas table with all the tracks and trains, she loves to push the trains around and tear down the tracks every day. After we opened each gift all she wanted to do was play with it and we had to ask her if she wanted to open another one (for some reason I don't think it will be this easy next year). We surprised our families this year and the last gift they opened was an ornament from the baby announcing her name.

We are looking forward to celebrating the New Year with our family and getting ready for baby #2, Mackenzie Paige to arrive.
