Premier

Last month we went to the premier of Leatherheads. Some of it was filmed in Charlotte so they had a small premier before the movie came out in theaters. Since the actors stayed at Ballantyne they were given some tickets. We had to sit in the 4th row from the front but that was OK because they got us closer to George Clooney and Renee. In the row behind us were most of the Carolina Panther players and coach Fox. I didn't know who any of the players were (big surprise since I am such a huge football fan. Ha Ha). But I did know coach Fox and Jake. A girl that was with us took these pictures and just sent them to us.

It was a fun night. George and Renee were only there for about two minutes and then they left but it was still exciting.

A little too big

Hailey loves to have a coat on. If she sees one anywhere in the house she has to put it on and zip it up. So the other day she saw the jacket I wear to the Y when it is chilly and was determined to wear it. It was really big so I had to roll up the sleeves but she loved it and wouldn't let me take it off. I can remember always trying to wear my moms things when I was little. It was so cute I just had to take a few photos.

The biggest one yet

Well I feel just awful. We were at the park yesterday and Hailey fell down and got scraped up. We have been stuck inside most of the week because it has been overcast and looked like rain. So yesterday was beautiful and Hailey was so excited to be outside. She was running around the playground and she took off out of the park. I was following her and thought she was going to the wagon to get a sip of her drink. But instead she went down the sidewalk and was going a little too fast. She started to fall and I went to catch her but I think that only made it worse. She went down on her knee and then when I tried to get her she face planted and scraped her cheek pretty bad.

I know that this is just the beginning and that there will be a lot of scrapes and bumps and bruises but I still hate it. I feel so bad for her. I have been putting neosporin (sp?) on it so hopefully it won't leave a scar.

First Haircut

Hailey had her first haircut today. I know she doesn't have a lot of hair but it was getting long in little sections and was starting to look shaggy. We took her to a place in the Stonecrest shopping center called Doolittles. She got to sit in a little red fire truck and she loved it. She wasn't sure of the spray bottle and why the lady kept combing her hair funny. But all in all she did great and when we went to leave she wanted to go back inside. The last two pictures are her after shots.

Beach

We are back from the beach and we had a great time. The weather was nice so we got to go to the beach almost every day. Hailey enjoyed running around but she didn't really play in the sand very much. I think the closest she got was when we would blow bubbles and they would stick to the ground and she would try to pop them. She did have fun carrying around moms bag and dancing to music. She even helped Grandpa while he was putting up the new blinds. But as always Hailey's favorite thing of all was the swing. As soon as we would get anywhere close she would point and say "there it is" and we had to put her in. I don't know what we are going to do in July because she has figured out how to pull the bar up and she will fall out if we aren't keeping a really close eye on her. We played a lot of cards and got to eat at all our favorite places and we even found time to make it to the outlets for a little shopping.

What a weekend

Brian had to work this weekend and I had my race in Charleston so Hailey spent the weekend at Mimi and Popi's house. They said as soon as she got there she was so excited to see all her toys and especially her rocking horse (I guess it is a unicorn but anyway). She it finally big enough to get on it and rock all by herself, she had a blast. She also had fun playing with my old Little People farm toys. We had packed her baby and baby stroller because she likes to take her on a stroll around the house every morning.

Little did I know that my mom would be cruel enough to put one of my frilly hats on her (she used to make me wear bonnets and I hated them). Next time I go to visit I am going to steal all those silly hats that my mom has kept from my childhood. I don't want to subject Hailey to that kind of torture. (just kidding mom)

All in all I think everyone had a great time. Mom said Hailey was so cute in the car that she had to pull over to take pictures. Unfortunately they had nasty weather so they didn't get to do a lot of the things they wanted to do but there is always next time.

I think we are in this picture somewhere. (ha ha)

Ok, so now about the race. I was very nervous because as you all know I am not a runner. The only reason I signed up for this was to go on the girls weekend and everyone else was doing it. When I woke up on Saturday I still was silently hoping that they would all back out. We parked the car and started walking towards where we were supposed to start. There were thousands of people there and it was very overwhelming. But there was a little excitement to it all and I started getting anxious. I had worked my way up to running a little over 2 miles so I was planning on running that and mainly walking the rest of the race, I knew there was no way I could do the whole 6.2 miles.

Well, as we finally reached the start line and we were off. I started running and I was actually passing people and all of a sudden I started getting competitive (which is not like me at all). Anyway, to make a long story short I pretty much ran the whole race. I walked up most of the incline of the bridge and for a little but during the 4th mile but other than that I kept running. I was thinking it would take me almost 2 hours to finish the race but I actually finished it in 1 hour and 11 minutes. I was so pumped and excited I could of done cartwheels if I knew how to. We had a great weekend and I am actually looking forward to dong some 5k's around Charlotte. There were about 35 thousand people in the race and I placed 16,886.

Now we are doing laundry and repacking and heading to the beach tomorrow.

Warm Weather

We finally had some nice weather at the end of the week. So Hailey and I got to play outside. She loves to play with bubbles and her garden shovel. I don't know why but it seemed like she liked to eat her shovel more then dig with it. I am just hoping that once she starts digging with it she won't want to eat it anymore. I wanted Hailey to wear her hat since it was getting late and we didn't put on any sunscreen. She was determined to wear it either sideways or backwards. We had a great time and we can't wait till the summer to play outside more often.
