Spring!

Spring is here and we have been busy. Hailey has started tee ball and is loving it. She is on an all girl team called the Lady Cubs. It is so cute to watch all the girls run after the ball and learning how to throw. The field is near a farm and the farmer has a little plane and took off during one the games and all the kids just stopped playing and watched the plane fly by. Mackenzie is little miss hollywood and won't go anywhere without her sunglasses. She is starting to really let her personality show and she is hilarious and loves to dance.

We took the girls to the Columbia Zoo after one of the tee ball games and Hailey had a blast. She got to ride a horse, feed a goat and got to pretend to milk a cow. Mackenzie was content riding in the stroller and being pushed around everywhere. The only time she got really excited was when we went to the aquarium and she got to see the fish.

Yesterday Hailey's class had an Easter egg hunt and all the kids had a great time. One of the little girls was out that day so the teacher let Mackenzie have the girls basket and Mackenzie got to run around and find eggs for her with Hailey's class. She had a blast and would get so excited every time she found one.

Wow, it has been a long time since my last post. Our church is having their consignment sale in a few weeks so I have been busy going through and organizing, entering and tagging items to sell.

We have done a lot since the last post but unfortunately I don't have a ton of pictures. First of all we took Hailey to the circus for the first time. We had a great time and she absolutely loved it. Brian and I hadn't been since we were kids and it was a lot more entertaining then we thought it would be. We couldn't believe that we were able to make it through the whole show and not have to buy anything (I am sure that will change the next time we go) and they tried the best to appeal all the junkie toys to kids and charge parents a fortune for them.

Mackenzie is in her clumsy phase and has fallen down a lot. This is her first black eye. About a week after that she fell and got a really good goose egg on her forehead. She was sick a few weeks ago and then on some antibiotics that messed with her stomach. But we are much better now and still clumsily going along. The biggest change for Mackenzie is her transition to her big girl bed. She is doing really well but she won't sleep on her pillow or under the covers. She sleeps at the foot of the bed on top of the covers. She has only fallen out twice so far.
We tired to get a picture of her in her bed but she didn't want to get her picture taken and as you can tell she didn't like her big sister in her bed either.

Turning 2 and more snow

It is hard to believe that our baby girl is two years old now. We had a little family get together on Sunday for her and she had a blast. She loved taking the tissue paper out of the bag and then putting it back in, so she had to have some help actually opening her gifts (which her sister was happy to help). We had her check up yesterday and she of course is still a little peanut but thankfully very healthy. She is so sweet and is staring to talk more and develop her own personality. She loves to sing and dance and right now she is a huge fan of Angelilna Ballerina.

We had snow again the other week and since everyone was feeling well this time we actually got to go outside and enjoy it. Mackenzie still only lasted about 20 minutes but Hailey had a blast. She went sledding over at a friends for the first time and really loved it. She it a few things, like a tree, rock and a power box. But she still had a great time and wanted to go again the next day. It was nice to have for a day or two but with school canceled all week I was dying to get out of the house so I am praying that we don't have a lot more of the bad weather the rest of the season.

Our Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas. It started the first of December with a Lock family Christmas at mimi and popi's house. They still had a little snow on the ground so Hailey got to make some snowballs. It was so cute watching the girls and Mr. Maddox play together and to see how our family is growing.

Hailey had her Christmas program in mid December and her class sang The Little Drummer Boy. She didn't sing as loud as last year but she was certainly the most animated in her class banging on her drum.

We had a Christmas at gammy and papa's house right before Christmas and made some cookies. Unfortunately Mackenzie and I were not feeling well but it was nice to relax and not worry about the house getting messed up before the big day.

Mimi and Popi spent the night on Christmas Eve and then Gammy and Papa came over Christmas morning. We had a great breakfast and started opening gifts. Let's just say that we are officially a girly house now. But now we have two doll houses some barbie dolls and lots of Strawberry Shortcake and Angelina Ballerina toys now. The train table has been moved up and the basketball and soccer stuff has been moved outside. Hailey was very excited about the snow we got on Christmas. Mackenzie got out for just a few minutes to play but I think we had her too bundled up so she couldn't move and really enjoy it. She was still coughing and had a runny nose so I didn't really want her out long anyway.

Here are some pictures of our festivities this month. Hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!

Never say never

You know how when you are young and childless and you think you know everything. Well I always wondered how people could let their children out of the house with clothes that don't match, I always said my child will never look like that. Well, I was wrong. Hailey has become quite the fashionista and loves picking out her own clothes. I have had to bite my tongue quite a few times and remember that she is a kid and she thinks she looks great and I don't want to crush her creative spirit. Here is a picture of the outfit we are wearing to the library today.

Plus there is a picture of the finished bench with the cushions and pillows. We have loved the bench so far and not that we have a comfy cushion I am sure we will use it much more.

Santa

Saturday we went and had breakfast at church and got to visit with Santa.

Mackenzie was getting over an ear infection and not really on her normal schedule yet. The whole time we were eating breakfast she was acting up and wouldn't eat anything. We were the first group in line to see Santa and so far all the kids had done great. I was certain that my girls would be the first to cry for Santa.

They did fantastic! Hailey walked right up so him and handed him her letter and told him what she wanted. She sat on his knee and then we put Mackenzie on his other knee. Hailey looked right at the camera and smiled while Mackenzie just stared at the floor.

We had a great visit with the big guy in red but we are also teaching the girls the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate this wonderful time of year. God Bless you all and I hope you all have a Merry Christmas.

First Haircut

Well we finally decided it was time to get Mackenzie's hair cut. We didn't cut much just a trim to shape everything up but it was still a big day. She did really well and loved sitting in the fire truck.
