Hard Times

We just got back this past Wednesday from PA and saying goodbye to my grandfather. We got a call this Thursday saying that Brians grandfather has passes away as well. Brian is in Kansas for the memorial service. Please pray for us and for his family as this has been a hard couple of weeks for us. Our grandfathers were happy funny people who made the world a better place and they will both be missed.

Where does the time go

I know this in a lot of posts at once but I am way behind. Here are some pictures of the girls that are just really cute, they love each other so much. Hailey had her first day of preschool this past Thursday. She is in a two day a week class with 6 other kids who are all girls. This year should be interesting. Mackenzie is enjoying her teething biscuits and is getting so big, she has her two bottom teeth and working on getting her top ones as well.

Creeper trail

We went to VA on Labor Day weekend and rode bikes down the creeper trail. I tried taking the girls in our bike trailer around the neighborhood a few times to get them used to the bike Trailer. Hailey has ridden in one before but not Mackenzie and needless to say neither were thrilled to be so close to each other. Mackenzie kept grabbing Hailey and Hailey didn't want her to so the first ride there was a lot of crying. The next time was  better since Mackenzie had a toy to play with so she wouldn't touch Hailey. The girls had a blast and we didn't make any unnecessary  stops. Hailey sang Mackenzie to sleep two different time and even let her fall asleep on her lap. It was so cute to see them. I also included some random pictures I thought were cute but don't have time to blog about. This last picture is Hailey teaching her animals the ABC's.

Hailey is 3

Here are some pictures of Hailey's birthday as promised. We went on Saturday to sports connection and she had a blast playing on the inflatable jumpers. She had about 7 friends come and play with her. When it was time for cupcakes we were trying to get everyone together to sing and Hailey couldn't wait any longer and started singing happy birthday to herself. After the party we came home and she opened some of her gifts and loved them all. When we would take her picture she would day "cheese it's my birthday". Her papa got her some tools and a hard hat so she can help him fix things. On Sunday (her actual birthday) we had a family cook out. Hailey had fun opening all her gifts and singing songs as she went. She got some cute clothes, a princess laptop, princess cards, a movie, dress up clothes, guitar, hair dryer and accessories, some tag reading books and a few other things too. She was so tired after two days of partying that she just passed out on Brian's lap before everyone even left.

Hailey loves being 3 and thinks she is big stuff now. Enjoy the pictures.

Sad Day

I know I promised to blog about Hailey and her birthday this week but it has been one crazy week. Brian has been sick so I have had a lot on my plate and just this morning I learned that my Grandpa passed away. We were so fortunate to see them this past weekend when they were here. My Grandpa was just the same as he has always been, funny and energetic. He loved seeing the girls and meeting Mackenzie for the first time. He was in good health and he had just played golf last week. He was happy and went peacefully in his sleep. We are on our way to PA this for the funeral and I promise that one we get back I will put up pics from the party. Here is a picture we took of my grandparents with the girls. We love you Grandpa and we will miss you!

Just the two of us

Brian had to work at the resort this weekend and Hailey spent the weekend at my parents house, so it was just me and Mackenzie. I think this is the first time I have spent a whole weekend just the two of us. It was nice to be able to focus all my attention on her and then I could also get stuff done around the house when she slept. I will have to say that the house was way to quiet and I really missed my doodle bug. I think Mackenzie like being able to play without worrying about being sat on, squeezed, or someone getting right in her face.

We met my parents on Sunday to pick up Hailey and you could tell that both girls really had missed each other. They got to ride the choo choo train together and they just laughed and "talked" the whole time to each other it was too cute.
Here are some pictures that I took of Mackenzie this weekend. She is very close to crawling. She will get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth. She will then scoot her legs up and then let her upper body fall in kind of a scooting motion and that is how she is getting around. It is adorable.

Hailey turns 3 on Sunday so she will have her own post next week so check back then!

Mackenzie

I can't believe how fast everything is going. Hailey is going to be 3 in a few weeks and Mackenzie is almost 7 months old. She is getting really close to crawling, she will get up on her knees and rock but she hasn't figured out how to move forward yet. She can move backwards and around in circles but not forwards.  She will sit up on her own if she has a toy in her hands but other than that she will sit for a minute or two and then fall sideways.

When Hailey played at this age she would always keep her bottom lip in her mouth and we teased that she looked like an old man. Well, this is how Mackenzie looks when she plays. She loves to stick her tongue out and she will leave it out for a long time, it is so cute.

We are very blessed with such great girls. I am looking forward to watching them grow together and form their sisterly bond.
