My little girl had her first day of preschool today. I was a little nervous about how she would do since I have never just dropped her off somewhere and left before. I asked her this morning if she was ready to go to school and she said "learn about Jesus". She was excited and couldn't wait to get in the car. When we got to the church the doors were locked and she kept pulling me towards them because she wanted to get inside. When the door opened she pulled my hand and said "come on".
She was the first one of the eight kids to arrive in her classroom and she went in and the teacher said hello and started playing with her so I was able to leave. When I picked her up they said she was perfect and they hardly heard a peep out of her. She participated in all the activities. When they sang songs she jumped up and down and she prayed before snack and lunch.
I was able to get so much done around the house and it was so quiet the time just flew by. I think she is really going to like school and I think I am going to like the peace and quiet I will get for a few hours two days a week till the baby gets here.
I can't believe that our little girl is growing up so fast we are so proud of her and all that she has already accomplished. We can't wait to see will come next.

On the Farm

We spent the holiday weekend in Virginia at the family farm. Hailey celebrated her 2nd birthday on Saturday and she couldn't of been anywhere more perfect. Luckily there were enough people there that nobody got tired of carrying her out to look at all the animals. They had a horse, cows, sheep, chickens, ducks, two dogs and a cat. We sang happy birthday that night and had a few gifts for her to open. She still isn't much on sweets so she wouldn't take a bite of her cupcake but she did help blow out the candles.
On Sunday we all got up and rode the Creeper Trail. We did this last year and it is so much fun. We rented bikes and they take you up the mountain and drop you off. Then you ride down the trail back into town. It is about 14 miles but it is beautiful scenery with some nice little pit stops along the way. Hailey had a blast riding in the bike trailer and hated it anytime we stopped. Although she did have fun playing in some of the water with her daddy.
We are having Hailey's party this weekend and can't wait to celebrate her turning 2 with all our friends and family. Hope everyone had a great holiday.

Ready for the Party
We have inherited a horse thank to our friends the Walsers. Ever since the horse showed up on our doorstop Hailey has not stopped playing with it. I couldn't resist getting out her hat and taking a few pictures. Our little cowgirl is so cute. We are getting ready to go to our aunt and ucnles farm in VA this weekend so she will get to play with all the farm animals. Hope everyone has a good weekend and enjoys the holiday.

Panthers game

Brian won tickets to the Panthers game for Saturday night so we thought it would be fun to take Hailey to her first football game. She has a really cute Panthers cheerleader outfit and we didn't want it to go to waste. We took our good friends the Asbury's and Hailey loved having Tyler to play with at the game. Both kids did really well and actually got into cheering for the Panthers. Luckily they were winning so we got to cheer a lot. We left at half time because it was 9 o'clock and we needed to get the kids to bed.
We all had a great time and while we were leaving Hailey said " I like football" and she talked about the game all day on Sunday. I think I am in big trouble since it looks like I am the one person in my whole family who doesn't like sports, maybe the new baby will take after me and we can go shopping and get our nails done on football Sundays.
Speaking of nails I forgot to blog about painting Hailey's toenails. She actually sat still and let me paint both feet. She has loved showing them off to everyone but it was about two weeks ago so they are starting to chip. I am going to see if she will let me do it again.

The Results are in
We had our ultrasound today and everything went well. The baby is healthy and happy. It likes to stay curled up a lot and do flips so we didn't get any good shots the baby did cooperate a couple of times for a few seconds so we could find out the sex and....
We are so excited and Hailey kept saying she wanted a sister so there you go. Now we just have to pick out a name and a theme for the nursery. I can't wait to go through all of Hailey's old baby clothes and get everything back out.

What we have been up to

Hailey still loves to read. We go to the library often to get new and interesting books for her to read.Right now she likes to wear her coat when she is in the house. Here is a picture of her the other day when she climbed up on the couch by herself with a book.

We love having our back yard fenced in now all we need are some good outdoor toys so she can run around and play in the yard. She has her picnic table and her house that she likes to play in but I know she would like to have some more toys. We always take bubbles out there for her to chase and then there are the neighbors dogs that she likes to watch. If we are out and the dogs aren't there she keeps asking for them and watching for them to come out.
Some friends of ours had a gator that their son outgrew so they gave it to Hailey. She likes to ride it but hasn't gotten the steering down yet. The tires are a little worn so it won't go in the grass. She kept wanting to ride in the back but we didn't think it was a good idea so she asked her daddy to sit in the back with her.

We spent some of the week and the weekend at mimi and popi's house. Hailey had a blast. We went shopping and she got to swing and play in the pool. Her favorite was playing with the cat and giving her treats. I swear every five minutes she would grab someone and take them to go to the garage and show her the cat.
On Saturday we picked up uncle jason and auntie allison and went to the zoo. We took the stroller but she never once got in it, although it was nice to have to carry everything else. The first thing we saw were the zebras. Her favorite part of the day was seeing the monkeys. Everywhere else we went she would look and say "no monkeys in there", or she would say "where are the monkeys?" it was too cute.
The whole time we were at mimi and popi's house she got up really early and didn't take long naps but she was always full of energy. We think that along with the zoo finally took it's toll on her because we had to wake her up Sunday morning around 9. She fell out of her bed Saturday night so she ended up sleeping with us and while she got a good night sleep I can't say the same for me or Brian. It was not easy getting her up,as you can see from the picture she was out like a light.
We find out on Wednesday if the new addition to our family is a boy or a girl so check back for the exciting announcement.

Bubbles in the water

Brian and I went to the Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift concert Sunday night so Hailey spent the night at her Grammy and papa's house. We went over early and all had dinner together before we left. Hailey is finally wanting to start trying what everyone else is eating (instead of her staples of hot dogs and mac and cheese). She wanted some of our corn an we tried to cut some off and put it on her plate but that wasn't what she wanted, she had to eat it off the cob herself. She was so cute holding the cob and trying to get all the corn.
Hailey loves her pool at grammy and papa's house and she also loves her bubble machine. We decided to face the bubble machine towards her pool and she could have bubbles in the water. She had so much fun that she had to play before and after dinner and as soon as she got up the next morning.
Brian and I had a great time at the concert. We had actual seats so we didn't have to fight for a good spot on the lawn. It was a late night but we had a blast just hanging out the two (well three actually) of us. Both bands were very entertaining and did a great job performing.
