Santa

Saturday we went and had breakfast at church and got to visit with Santa.

Mackenzie was getting over an ear infection and not really on her normal schedule yet. The whole time we were eating breakfast she was acting up and wouldn't eat anything. We were the first group in line to see Santa and so far all the kids had done great. I was certain that my girls would be the first to cry for Santa.

They did fantastic! Hailey walked right up so him and handed him her letter and told him what she wanted. She sat on his knee and then we put Mackenzie on his other knee. Hailey looked right at the camera and smiled while Mackenzie just stared at the floor.

We had a great visit with the big guy in red but we are also teaching the girls the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate this wonderful time of year. God Bless you all and I hope you all have a Merry Christmas.

First Haircut

Well we finally decided it was time to get Mackenzie's hair cut. We didn't cut much just a trim to shape everything up but it was still a big day. She did really well and loved sitting in the fire truck.

Soccer is done, now what?

The Green Beans finished up their season the other weekend. Hailey had a blast playing and learning a new sport and she was so excited when she got her "cool trophy" as she puts it. So now that soccer is over what will take up all our time apart from the holidays?

PROJECTS!!

We did repaint the living room and all the hallway about a month ago. We bought this old painters ladder at the flea market in August and are now using it as sort of a picture frame.

Our other project is our new window bench in the kitchen. I can't wait for this project to be completed. Not only will it provide us with a lot more seating in the kitchen but also storage as well. We built it to where each section lifts up and we can store a lot of kitchen items that we don't use very often to make space in our cabinets. We are in the process of picking out fabric and making some cushions for it as well as some throw pillows to coordinate. Of course this has inspired some other changes so we will probably re-cover the kitchen chairs to match the cushion and then make curtains for the living room to match the pillows and tie everything together.

Trick or Treat

We went to the Asbury house again for their annual Halloween party. Hailey was a bee and Mackenzie was a flower ( she would not keep the hood on). Hailey was really into Halloween this year. She loved seeing all the houses decorated and yesterday she kept asking to put her costume on and go trick or treating. She and Tyler and some other kids had so much fun running door to door.

Mackenzie did great at the first house and she got two suckers and then she was done. She just carried around her suckers and didn't want to walk anymore so she got carried the rest of the time and only got a few things of candy. We all had a great time.

Another Pumpkin Patch

We visited my aunt and uncle in SC the other weekend (aka nana and papa paul) and took them to a pumpkin patch/hay-ride. The girls had a great time, they got to feed cows and see some pigs as well as pick out some pumpkins. There was also homemade ice-cream at the end of the hay-ride so the girls loved that.

The place we took them was Strawberry Hills farm. They had a trail that the wagon went on and had all kinds of decorations to keep everyone entertained on the way. When we got to the bridge a troll came out and we had to ask permission to pass. It was really cute and we all had a great time.

7 years

I can't believe it has already been 7 years since the day I married my best friend. I also can't believe how much our lives have changed in those 7 years. When we got married we didn't think we would live in our house more than 5 years and that we would wait 5 to 10 years before we had any kids. But here we are still in the same house with two precious little girls and we couldn't be happier. It just goes to show that we can't plan our lives that we just need to trust in God and follow his plan because he is God and he is always right.

I love you sweetie, happy anniversary!

Cousins

This first picture is Hailey's fall school picture, she did a great job posing (which is easier said than done when we are taking her picture)

Brian's brother and his family were here visiting last week and we had such a good time with them. Little Bailey just turned 6 months old and was adorable, Hailey had a good time playing with her and feeding her a bottle.

We tried to find some things to do while they were here so we went to Hunter Farms, Sports connection and a Fire Station. Riley loves fire trucks so we promised him would would ride by one on our way home one night. Well it was our lucky day because they were washing the floors so they had the trucks out. We stopped by to look at the trucks and some of the nice firemen came out and opened the truck up and let them look around inside and then they got to slide down the pole and had a great time.

At Hunter farms Riley and Hailey loved feeding all the different animals and riding on the hay ride. Everyone got to pick a pumpkin and go through the hay maze. When we got back they got to decorate their pumpkins, don't they look scary.

We got all the kids dresses up in the halloween costumes and tried to take a picture but it was getting late and my little flower girl did not want to cooperate but we did manage this one picture. If it looks like Mackenzie's costume is a little small it is, I looked at the hanger and not the tag and needless to say the sizes didn't match up. I crammed the poor thing into a 6-12 month costume but was able to go and exchange it the next day so she won't be uncomfortable for trick or treating.
