Cutie Pies

( I just love the face Mackenzie is making in the bathtub)

These are just some pictures of the girls that we have taken recently. We are very excited that it is starting to get warmer and we can play outside some more. We got Hailey a big girl bike so that she can learn to ride, but she still doesn't want to pedal. I am hoping that by the end of summer she will be racing up and down the street but we will see. The picture of her in front of the jumper-roo is her own creation of a baby carrier. It is a tummy time mat for one of her baby dolls and she put it over her back and is holding the baby in front of her. She always continues to amaze me with her creativity and imagination. We haven't had Mackenzie in a carrier for a long time so I don't know why she thought of doing that. I love the picture of Mackenzie with the ice cream all over her face, I have a feeling she is going to have a sweet tooth like her mommy. The girls are starting to play more together and love taking baths together. Mackenzie thinks she is bigger than she really is and wants to do the things that Hailey does. She even tries to initiate fights with Hailey not realizing that she would loose. I have a feeling that whenever she does start walking we are going to have our hands full.

The Girls

Two weekends ago we went to a cousins wedding in VA. It rained the whole weekend but we still managed to have a great time. I love sitting back and watching the girls and how they interact with everyone. They really are complete opposites in everything. Mackenzie loves to work the crown and as long as someone will look at her she will turn on her charm. Hailey is more cautious and shy but once she is there for a few minutes she really opens up and lets loose. The girls did great the whole weekend and Hailey was the last one on the dance floor that night.

Mackenzie still isn't walking but she is finally starting to pull her self up on things every once in a while. She is getting some more teeth so she has been a little fussy lately. But we are just waiting patiently to meet the new addition to our family. Uncle Jason and Auntie Alli are going to have their little baby boy any day now. Please keep them in your prayers.

Gymnastics

Hailey has been taking a gymnastics class on Tuesday mornings and absolutely loves it. She is so cute in her little leotard. I haven't been able to get any pictures of her while she is in class but they are having a parent day in May so I will be able to get some then.

More Snow

So a few weeks ago we went to the beach for a long weekend. We went shopping and to the aquarium in Wilmington. Then on Saturday morning we got to do something we have never done before, we played in the snow on the beach. I don't know if Hailey was more excited about the snow or the sand, all she really wanted to do was build sand castles and snowmen. We didn't stay on the beach very long because it was cold but we did see a few crazy people surfing while we were there. All the snow melted by the afternoon but it was fun while it lasted.

Last week the girls and I went home and helped throw a baby shower for Jason and Alli. I wasn't feeling great and forgot my camera but as soon as I get some pictures I will post them later. The shower was nice and they got a lot of great things. They have worked very hard on their nursery and it looks amazing, now all we have to do is wait a few more weeks to meet our new little nephew. I guess Brian missed us while we were gone because he had flowers waiting for us when we got home. He is so sweet and the best husband anyone could ask for.

Snow!

Well kind of, it was mostly sleet but a little snow was mixed in. Hailey had fun playing in it but was disappointed that there wasn't enough to build a Frosty. She tried making a snow angel but since it wasn't good snow it didn't really work. Mimi and Popi ended up getting about 12 inches so I guess next time we need to go to their house so we can play in some good snow.

Since we ran out of Milk on Friday afternoon and seeing as how I have been stuck at home for almost two weeks with both girls being sick we spent the weekend at Gammy and Papa's for a change of scenery. It was nice because Hailey did get to play with the snow on the deck and not get dirty so it was easy clean up. Mackenzie went to the Dr. on Monday for an ear infection and ever once in a while will still grab her ear so we kept her inside this time. But next time we get anything we will have to throw her in the snow.

ONE

Our sweet little girl turned one last Monday (and it has taken me a week to post because both girls have been sick). We had just a little get together last weekend to celebrate. It is so cute to see just how different are girls really are. Hailey can be in a room full of presents and not even care (even on Christmas she didn't even ask to open any and we ate breakfast first). But little Miss Mackenzie started ripping paper out as soon as a gift hit the floor. She doesn't even want any help, in one of the pictures Hailey is trying to help her open something and Mackenzie is pushing her away, it is cute now but I know this might be a problem a little later on.

Mackenzie liked her cake but just like her big sister she didn't want it on her hands so we don't have any cute pictures of her with icing on her face either. We went last Tuesday for her check up and she is just a little peanut. She only weighs 17.3 pounds and is 27 1/2 inches so we have to start whole milk only and all table foods with lots of butter. We had to do this to Hailey as well but it didn't work. She is absolutely refusing to stand up, she is perfectly happy crawling and playing on her knees. She has the muscles to do it, she just isn't ready yet and neither am I. I want to keep her my little baby for as long as I can.

Our two new additions!

Meet Ginger and Tumble Bear! Hailey and Mackenzie each got a gift certificate for Build a Bear for Christmas.

Hailey was so excited when we got there and had a hard time choosing which animal she wanted to make. She decided on a pink bear since pink is her favorite color. She was a little hesitant about helping the nice lady stuff the bear but she liked putting the heart in. Her favorite part of all was giving her bear her "bath". I had to pry her away and make her pick an outfit for her bear so it wouldn't get cold (ha ha). She also helped make Mackenzie's bear as well but Mackenzie picked out the outfit for her bear.  The girls had a great time and Hailey has taken Tumble bear every where with her, she even gets a hat for Tumble bear to wear outside so her head won't get cold.
