Just the two of us

Brian had to work at the resort this weekend and Hailey spent the weekend at my parents house, so it was just me and Mackenzie. I think this is the first time I have spent a whole weekend just the two of us. It was nice to be able to focus all my attention on her and then I could also get stuff done around the house when she slept. I will have to say that the house was way to quiet and I really missed my doodle bug. I think Mackenzie like being able to play without worrying about being sat on, squeezed, or someone getting right in her face.

We met my parents on Sunday to pick up Hailey and you could tell that both girls really had missed each other. They got to ride the choo choo train together and they just laughed and "talked" the whole time to each other it was too cute.
Here are some pictures that I took of Mackenzie this weekend. She is very close to crawling. She will get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth. She will then scoot her legs up and then let her upper body fall in kind of a scooting motion and that is how she is getting around. It is adorable.

Hailey turns 3 on Sunday so she will have her own post next week so check back then!

Mackenzie

I can't believe how fast everything is going. Hailey is going to be 3 in a few weeks and Mackenzie is almost 7 months old. She is getting really close to crawling, she will get up on her knees and rock but she hasn't figured out how to move forward yet. She can move backwards and around in circles but not forwards.  She will sit up on her own if she has a toy in her hands but other than that she will sit for a minute or two and then fall sideways.

When Hailey played at this age she would always keep her bottom lip in her mouth and we teased that she looked like an old man. Well, this is how Mackenzie looks when she plays. She loves to stick her tongue out and she will leave it out for a long time, it is so cute.

We are very blessed with such great girls. I am looking forward to watching them grow together and form their sisterly bond.

Work from home

Brian gets to work from home one day a week and we are loving it. This Wednesday was his day at home and Hailey decided she was going to work from home as well. She got out her little yellow chair, got some books and her keyboard and set us her work station. Her outfit on the other-hand was not so professional (we will have to talk to her boss about that). She showed up in her pj top sunglasses heels and a necklace. She was so cute, she even pretended to talk on the phone.

Mackenzie is doing good and cutting her two bottom teeth. She is still sleeping good and hasn't really been fussy at all. She started her baby food and she doesn't know what to think, but so far it looks like peas are her favorite. We are going to start introducing fruit this weekend. Here is a cute picture of her sleeping with her cute little bottom up in the air.

Thomas the Train and 6 months

Mackenzie turned 6 months old last week. It is hard to believe that 6 months has gone by already. I think time is going by even faster this time. She is rolling over, sitting with support and starting to eat baby food. She loves to swing on the swingset and Hailey loves to push her, it is so cute to watch. Mackenzie also has started to like the pool. We took the girls to the Ballantyne Y waterpark and she loved to sit in the water and splash and she also had fun watching Hailey play and slide while we were there.  We went today for her check up and she is 13 pounds and 25 inches long. Just like her sister she is little and in the 10% for weight and the 25-50% for height, however, unlike her sister her head is still in the 25%.  It is so fun to just sit back and watch her discover new things and to watch her grow.

Since Hailey has been such a good big sister we decided to give her a special surprise. We took her on Saturday to Bryson City to spend a day with Thomas the Train.  She had a really good time seeing Thomas and Sir Topham Hat, even-thought the train ride wasn't long she still really enjoyed it.

Summer fun

We spent last week at mimi and popi's house and had a blast. The girls got to play in the pool, swing and catch lighting bugs. Hailey was so funny running around the yard trying to "catch" (more like smash) the fireflies in her hand. The time went by too quickly as always.  I think Hailey's favorite part of the trip, besides going to Uncle Jason and Anutie Alli's house to see the cats, was her pedicure. We set up our own little spa in the upstairs bathroom and let Hailey soak her feet. We tried to use the pedicure tools but her feet were too ticklish but she did get some pretty pink nail-polish on them.  She loves to have her nails and toenails painted. I can't wait till both girls are older and we can all share a true spa experience together.

Horses

On Friday Gatha's church had a family fun night. Hailey got to play in some jumpers and also got to ride a little train around the parking lot. Her favorite part of the night was getting a horse painted on her face and also the pony ride. I have a feeling we are in for some trouble as little miss Hailey is a big animal lover. She had a blast riding and petting her little horse names Hot Shot.

Riley

Mark, Kat and Riley came for a visit the other weekend and it was great seeing them again. Hailey and Riley had a blast playing together and Mackenzie loved meeting her Aunt, Uncle and cousin for the first time. Hailey and Riley were inseparable for the four days they were here. They watched the birds and squirrels eat in Gammy and Papa's back yard, watched movies, played on the deck, swam at the pool and even went to sports connection to bounce on the inflatables.  Riley is so cute and we couldn't get over how blonde his hair is. Last time we saw him he was just a little bigger than Mackenzie is now. He is really into Elmo and the disney sing along songs. We hate that they couldn't stay longer but we are looking forward to seeing them again in September at the beach.
